Q: Can we bring in our own birthday cake or cupcakes to serve?

We're quite proud of our homemade butter cream, sprinkle cupcakes with a signature toy train whistle on top! We invite you to purchase our desserts to celebrate your special occasion. If you choose our signature Train Whistle Cupcakes or any of our other homemade desserts, they'll be delivered on the train. The birthday dessert has a candle and the birthday song plays as it chugs up to the birthday child. We're normally not set up to accommodate outside cakes and desserts but when special arrangements are made for allergies or because grandma happens to make the best cake in the world, there is a $1.95 per person additional charge and we can't guarantee it will be able to be delivered on the train.

Q: Do your Tallgrass Beef ® Hot Dogs have any preservatives in them?

Absolutely no preservatives are used in our hot dogs. All of our hot dogs and hamburgers are made from 100% grass fed, prairie raised, humanely handled cattle from Bill Kurtis' (nationally known journalist, CBS news Chicago, rancher, conservationist and businessman) Tallgrass Beef Company.
Our Tallgrass Beef Hot Dogs are made with the finest ingredients:

• All natural seasonings and spices
• No nitrites or nitrates
• No artificial colors or preservatives
• Gluten free. Our Hot Dogs are lower in fat than regular hot dogs and have all the great health benefits of Tallgrass Beef!

Q: Does 2Toots Train Whistle Grill® accept credit cards?

Yes, We accept Master Card and Visa. We do not accept personal checks.

Q: Does 2Toots Train Whistle Grill® accept reservations?

We do take reservations during a specific time in the afternoon. We try to be flexible but generally the times a reserved party would begin would be no earlier than 2:30 and have to be completed by 4:30 to accommodate our regular customers as they come in. Depending on the size of the party we will section off the appropriate portion of the restaurant to accommodate you. We can handle 40-50 people comfortably. While there is really no room for kids to run around there's usually enough space to make an area to open gifts if you choose to. You may bring party favors such as hats, table coverings, balloons, plates, etc., if you like. We generally don't allow outside food unless there is some special dietary need. In the event that you wish to bring your own cake there is a per person charge of $1.95 and can't guarantee delivery of the desserts on the train.

Walk in parties of any size are always welcome. If you come it at peak times, such as lunch, dinner or on holidays, we're usually quite busy and you may have to wait until everyone in your group is present in the store. Holding seats just isn't practical since seating is limited by only having it on the tracks. When your entire party is present and next in line, we will seat you as soon as the next combination of seats accommodating your party becomes available.

Q: Does 2Toots Train Whistle Grill® accommodate kids birthday parties?

We love to have families celebrate birthday parties or any occasion with us. While we don't have a private party room, that by no means stops families from enjoying their special day at 2Toots. We never charge extra or add an automatic gratuity for bringing a large party in. However if you visit at a peak time with a large party you may need to wait until your entire group arrives at which time we will do our best to get you all seated together. (*see below for party reservation availability times and information). We intentionally didn't make our store a "kiddie" theme with a train running around in order to make it a celebration adults can enjoy as well. We have authentic 50's "O" scale Lionel trains delivering your food and EVERY SEAT is on the tracks. If you choose our signature Train Whistle Cupcakes or any of our other homemade desserts, they'll be delivered on the train. The birthday dessert has a candle and the birthday song plays as it's delivered. (We're normally not set up to accommodate outside cakes and desserts but when arrangements are made for them to be brought in, there is a per person additional charge). To add to the party's fun we have an authentic 1950's horse ride complete with a real leather saddle and reins for the kids to enjoy. At just a quarter a ride it's a real bargain. But that's it. No video games, kids running all over the restaurant or "Whack a Mole", sorry. If you really want to go "fifties tech" and avoid goodie bags we have several old fashioned quarter vending machines with small toys and balls (no candy or gum). Not only can you have a good time but you don't have to spend your child's college fund on a birthday party.

Summary:
Tallgrass Beef© is used exclusively for our Hot Dogs (no preservatives, nitrates or nitrites) and Hamburgers.

2Toots is the ONLY train themed restaurant with every seat on the tracks. NO ONE sits away from the fun!

If you're flexible, we can accommodate most any size party.

We have groups of extended booths that can easily accommodate 40 people, with a degree of privacy.

There is counter space which can accommodate up to 12 people in one group on stools.

We have homemade cupcakes, brownies, Rice Krispy treats as well as ice cream. (We're normally not set up to accommodate outside cakes and desserts but when arrangements are made for cakes to be brought in there is a per person additional charge.)

We are happy to make accommodations for children with special dietary needs. If someone has allergies and you want to bring their own food in, please do. If it's train appropriate, give it to us and we'll send it out with everyone else's meal so they can have fun as well.

You do not have to make reservations for a party. You are welcome to bring in a group of any size at anytime and we will do our best to accommodate you. However if you visit during peak times with a large party you may need to wait until your entire group arrives at which time we will do our best to get you all seated together.

Regardless of what time you choose to visit, there are never any additional charges for bringing a party in.

Q: Does 2Toots Train Whistle Grill® provide accommodations for diners with special dietary needs?

Yes. If someone from your party has special dietary needs, we encourage you to bring in separate food with you (at no additional charge). We are happy to even serve it on the train to accommodate young conductors!

Q: Does 2Toots Train Whistle Grill® serve peanut products?

Yes. We do offer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and nuts are in our brownies. If your child is sensitive to peanut products, you are welcome to bring separate food with you (at no additional charge).
